Paula had a great attitude and has mastered the art of rock/paper/scissors. She was in her opponents head as soon as she threw down the rock. Her energy carried the team as she pumped up the jams! Great job Paula!
It was hard to miss Miss Brooke Boge on the court this week with her contagious team spirit, as well as her florescent yellow sweatband, which we can only presume was keeping in line with her "Sweat Bandits" team name! Not even in the face of defeat did this girl lose her spark! Her positive energy and reinforcement, even to her opponents, was truly inspiring! Thanks for showing us what true sportsmanship is all about Brooke! SIDEOUT!
Always fun to watch is Christian b/c he certainly knows how to lay down the law when it comes to his forceful spikes. You have to wonder if they're causing contusions on his opponents forearms who dare make contact?!! Great job for remaining fearless on the court and showing everyone how to make consistent contact with the ball!
Not only is Phong a great volleyball player, but he also encompasses all the qualities of a true team player and is a riot to watch on the court. He cheers for both his team, as well as his opponents after each play and is so much fun to watch because when the ball is not in play, you will find him giggling at whatever just happened, good or bad! He takes the game seriously, but not enough to not enjoy every minute of it! Great sportsmanship Phong!
All I can say is WOW! Cassie Wistrom takes POTW for pulling off the "Block of the Century" as her teammate Paula coined it! She never hesitated to approach the net as Christian from "Drew's Last Stand" came in for the attack. Trust me, if you've seen him hit, you probably don't want to be on the receiving end of it, but Cassie proved to by truly awesome! Fabulous job girl!
Eli was a true asset to his team this week in helping them to a clean sweep of 3 & 0. Whether it was his serves, his hits, his attacks, his blocks or his saves, he definitely proved he knows how to work the court! Way to stay on that ball!

POTW: Kim Small
Drew's Last Stand
Kim proved that despite her request for more time to warm up hitting, her team didn't need it with her setting them up. She displayed setting at its finest and with such accuracy, that even her teammates caught her off guard w/a double fake-out attack. Never was there a break in her performance and for this my friends, she takes POTW! Fabulous performance Kim!
To make it look even easier, Christian leaves his hat on. "Hey guys, I'm just here to have fun" kind of presence; until you see him hit. My first reaction was to get out the first aid kit. Surely someone is going to try to block that or get in the way somehow and I should be ready. Lucky for me, and the players I guess, no one needed band-aids or ice packs. I don't have anything for hurt pride. More compelling than his hitting, Christian can also play defense and of course block. He jumps and mid air decides that he is a little early and should hang out for a second then go in for the kill. And when someone actually blocks him or his teammates he is the first to high five them. He is here just to have fun after all, it just looks scary from the other side.
