Spring Big Turkey Bowling at Imperial Tuesday 7pm Champs: Bowling Azzholes
Azzholes defeat Pinheads for first Championship!
Former Champs seen picking up gum in parking lot
The last time these two teams met in the playoffs, it was last season and they were playing for third place. The Azzholes took that game and gave a repeat performance last night for their title. In fairness, it was about as close a game as we've seen here. At exactly the same spot in the end of the seventh, the team pinfalls (before drops) were 617 to 616, but the Azzholes pulled away after that finishing with a 617 to 592 victory. Last season's champs The Chicken Headz failed to even make the playoffs, while the runners up Busterz, again had to settle for less with their third place victory over the young upstart Mystery Bowlers. Congratulations Bowling Azzholes, 2006 Spring Imperial Big Turkey Bowling Champs! See everybody in fall!
Second Place: Pinheads
Third Place: Busterz

Schedule For Spring Big Turkey Bowling at Imperial Tuesday 7pm

DateLane Assignments - Bowling Starts at 7:00 PM

POTW: Ryan
Pinheads
Bestowing POTW honors at Imperial is hard. Everybody there seems to crack 150 in their sleep. So we must look beyond scores (sorta). We must look to dedication. Ryan and his Pinhead cohorts have been bowling in Underdog for years. And from the beginning right on up to Tuesday night, his dedication has been paramount and his question has been consistent: "Hey, don't we deserve a free beer for that?" Close, Ryan. That and 5 stikes to end a game with a 202 will get you POTW.
Lanes 1 & 2 - Bowling Azzholes [1275 pins, 4 points] vs. Busterz [1068 pins, 0 points]
Lanes 3 & 4 - Indy Team #1 [863 pins, 0 points] vs. Snake Bitten' Bobcats [958 pins, 4 points]
Lanes 5 & 6 - The Chicken Headz [982 pins, 0 points] vs. Pinheads [1069 pins, 4 points]

POTW: Jeff
Rollin Dubbies
Everyone in this league is an assassin; a mercenary capable of firing off 150+ games with their eyes closed. So there's a new team Tuesday at Imperial. They're going by the name The Mystery Bowlers. I mean, surely everybody can't be awesome in this league, can they? Surely, there are some people who are just there for fun and and not to cap every game, right?
Wrongo.
Jeff from The Mystery Bowlers just HAD to go and bowl a 205 game his first night in the league, and just HAD to win POTW. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!!?? HAVE YOU NO SENSE OF MODESTY??!!!

*Honorable mention goes to Ryan from The Pinheads who was determined to not be dethroned from his last week POTW status. He demolished the cap, bowling a 245 with 8 consecutive strikes. Sorry Ryan, but you just gotta give someone else a chance.

Lanes 3 & 4 - The Chicken Headz [1193 pins, 4 points] vs. Indy Team #1 [1016 pins, 0 points]

Superhero Night
Super Hero costumes have infinite potential! They can be super funny, super stupid, super witty, super lame (in a funny way), or super hot. Be you a faithful recreation of your favorite super hero (Wonder Twins, anyone?) or your own super ridiculous creation, this week you get to put on your super duds and roll. Top super costumes get a free prizes to increase their super powers. KerPow!

POTW: Wei Peng Liao
Bowling Azzholes
PENG! Destroyer of worlds, crusher of souls, hopes, and dreams. Many say that Peng is a master in the ancient black art of kicking people's asses up and down a bowling alley with his high scores. But some only learn this final lesson when they find themselves at the end of his (metaphorical bowling) blade. And by then, it is of course, too late. This soft spoken assassin finished off the competition with 6 strikes and only one open frame on the way to a 213 capped game to win POTW honors. And then he vanished into thin air...
Lanes 1 & 2 - Indy Team #1 [867 pins, 0 points] vs. Busterz [967 pins, 4 points]
Lanes 3 & 4 - Bowling Azzholes [1222 pins, 4 points] vs. The Chicken Headz [1177 pins, 0 points]

Lanes 7 & 8 - The Mystery Bowlers [1029 pins, 1 points] vs. Gutter Done [1100 pins, 3 points]

POTW: Tung Ly
Indy Team #1
He came into this league an unknown; an independent. A loner, a rebel. But by the time he leaves his name will echo off the hardwood in every alley from Bellingham to Olympia. The man, the myth, the legend: T-U-N-G. The colossal power of this man simply cannot be put into words, as he is simply a god among mere mortals. He did manage to guess his own score and win a free drink the first game, and help his team to their first ever points. He is also working on ways to stop world hunger, reverse the aging process, and how to breathe in outer space. We kneel before you humbly, Tung.

*Sidenote- Some people are just selfish. They're not happy with being POTW for just one week. First Ryan from the Pinheads, and now last week's POTW Peng just had to go out and bowl a 245 this week! Hey buddy, save some pins and some spotlight for some other folks on yer team, wyncha???!! Jeez, some people...
Lanes 1 & 2 - The Chicken Headz [1194 pins, 0 points] vs. Busterz [1275 pins, 4 points]
Lanes 3 & 4 - Indy Team #1 [1102 pins, 3 points] vs. Pinheads [1063 pins, 1 points]
Lanes 5 & 6 - The Mystery Bowlers [1052 pins, 4 points] vs. Snake Bitten' Bobcats [926 pins, 0 points]
Lanes 7 & 8 - Bowling Azzholes [1302 pins, 4 points] vs. Gutter Done [1099 pins, 0 points]

POTW: John Luong
Bowling Azzholes
Although John Luong of Bowling Azzholes had not bowled three straight strikes or spares for a drink ticket all season, he felt it was his night when he hit three strikes in the first game for the first big turkey of his life. Leading the team with a 214 John was feeling confident moving into the second game. After cleaning up the first frame with a spare, John hit three more strikes and a second drink ticket. Johns was becoming very popular with his teammates and John was just starting to warm up. In the 5th John took a nine pin spare in preparation for a dazzling spectacle of bowling mastery. Looking like a Barry Bonds circa 2001, John’s next six rolls were all strikes. This six straight streak in of itself was a delight to see, but the photo from the cell phone with John holding his four drink ticket bounty was priceless. You are a giant among men John, great job.
Lanes 3 & 4 - Busterz [1196 pins, 1 points] vs. Pinheads [1202 pins, 3 points]
Lanes 5 & 6 - Bowling Azzholes [1336 pins, 4 points] vs. Snake Bitten' Bobcats [957 pins, 0 points]
Lanes 7 & 8 - Indy Team #1 [934 pins, 1 points] vs. The Mystery Bowlers [1124 pins, 3 points]
Lanes 9 & 10 - Gutter Done [1109 pins, 3 points] vs. The Chicken Headz [1091 pins, 1 points]

Survive This?

The night is already a tropical paradise... of bowling. Make the most of the surroundings this week with your most ridiculous warm weather wear. Think Tahiti, Gilligan's Island, Lost, Mai Tais - whatever it takes to get you in the mood. Aloha.

POTW: Marissa Victa
Bowling Azzholes
Big Turkey Leagues start at 7:00pm. Marissa was there bowling at 6:00, trying to hone her skillz for the big game. Well, it paid off. Her team took the championship thanks in large part to her performance in game 2. Marissa bowled a 167, outbowling all but one of her teammates and laying the competition to waste. See folks? Practice does make perfect. Congrats Marissa, congrats Bowling Azzholes.
