POTW: Leslie Pierson

These Aren't My Shoes - Indy #4

Sometimes our underdog players are more than one sport athletes, whether its kickball, mini golf or more extreme activities our players are always in pursuit of a good time. Top female scorer Leslie Pierson was no exception this week, scoring a whopping 141 with a broken arm (from snowboarding earlier in the week)! Way to show your underdog spirit, great job Leslie!

Tone Was Set!

The tone was set early in the season who the team to beat was! Salty balls came out swinging on Playoff night and were cool and collected! It was playoffs though and two teams gave the champs a run for their money early in the games, keeping lane one quiet and focused as nothing was given to the champs, it was all earned. Great season Salty balls, and excellent job to the Indy #1 team (Blue Balls) and the season they had. Blue balls bowled a solid 592 and did nothing but improve the whole season breaking personal bests and making it to the chipper, congrats to both teams!

Despite timeless appeal and its own strange but internally consistent aesthetic, it is hard to look cool when you're sliding around trying to roll a heavy ball... aka Bowling. Most of us aren't very good at it and there's no shame in our lack of game (or apparent physical coordination). And, those rare Big Turkey-ers that threaten 200 consistently tend to generate some suspicion. "How did you get so good at this, anyway?" Three theme nights a league take bowling goofiness and bear hug it like a lumberjack. 12 lanes of people wearing fake mustaches, 70s threads, or giant hats is an end in itself. Not feeling like dress up? No problem - theme night participation is both encouraged and extremely optional. Yeah?
