*** Rules Updates for 2007 ***
New for the 2007 seasons, the Underdog has made a few rules adjustments to improve our 3 Division system, and generally emphasize kickball fun - no matter how competitive you like to be out on the diamond. For a more detailed description of the Softcore, Midcore, and Hardcore Divisions that will help you decide what's best for your team, please click here.

Updates Applying to ALL 3 Divisions

Run cap = 9 runs per your team's at bat (half-inning). Nine runs can be exceeded when the final play scores multiple runs. There is no run cap during the final inning of a game.

No side-arm or overhand pitch delivery permitted.

Kicker's Option: In a situation where three straight pitches are called balls, the kicker has the option (once per at-kick) to take the walk OR to reset the count. This is kickball not walkball, after all!

Updates Applying Only to SOFTCORE & MIDCORE

Pitching rules have been revised to further emphasize getting the ball kicked - not striking people out or making kickers look bad.

No wind-up or walking delivery will be permitted.

Pitchers must start with both feet on the rubber and can take only one step forward - without first stepping behind the mound.

When the pitcher releases the ball, she/he must keep one foot on the pitching rubber until the ball is kicked.

Umpires will not permit curving the ball or excessive speed on pitches.
