Shawn Kemp's Firstborn Closes Out Title
With a 9-3 victory over the Vajazzlers, Shawn Kemp's Firstborn wrapped up a dominant season in Everett. Though it lacked the rains from the previous game, the Midcore Championship game featured plenty of mud. SKFB jumped on top early, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the first. However, the Vajazzlers settled down on defense and managed to hold them over the next three innings. Unfortunately, their offense could not get untracked, and it was still 4-0 heading into the fifth inning. In the bottom of the frame, SKFB finally broke the game open, scoring 4 more runs, keyed by a 3-run homerun by Paul Swanson, and the champs cruised from there. |

Rehab tops Ball Bangers
First the runs came, then the rains came. Rehab came out swining in the first two innings of the Softcore Division Championship, scoring 7 runs in the first innng and tacking on another 5 in the second to jump out to a 12-0 lead. By the time the inning was over, however, the skies had opened up, and rain was falling heavily. Yet both teams were up to the task, and refused to pack it in. Showing the resiliency that had become their trademark this year, Harvey's Ball Bangers staged a late rally, scoring 7 runs in the next few innings. But the early deficit proved to much to overcome, and Rehab held on for a 14-7 victory. |

Defending Champs Complete Perfect Season
B.I.G. T.A.B. and Turd Ferguson squared off for the fourth time this year in MLT, having met in the championship of Spring's season as well. Turd Ferguson jumped out to a quick 3-run lead in the top of the first, but B.I.G. T.A.B. countered with 4 of their own in the bottom of the frame. Both defenses, led by Mark Hastings of Turd Ferguson and Paula Spencer of B.I.G. T.A.B., settled down until the bottom of the fourth. Then, the champs finally broke the game open, as Danny "A Little To The Left" came through with a big kick to key the 3-run inning, and B.I.G. T.A.B. cruised to a 9-5 victory from there. |

Champs Dance Their Pants Off
The Softcore Division Championship featured two solid teams in Pantsoff Danceoff and Urbanballs. Pantsoff Danceoff struck first, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first. Urbanballs finally managed to get their offense going in the fourth, and scored 3 runs to pull ahead. The lead would go back and forth over the next few innings, and, entering the seventh, Pantsoff Danceoff held a 9-7 advantage. With no out and the tying run at the plate, Urbanballs was looking to stage yet another rally. Enter Meagan Beckmeyer. The second baseman came up with two great defensive plays to seal the victory. |

Junior
Hard fought battles raged all night long for the Ballard Playfield Co-Ed Championship, but The Super Heroes In Training showed they had the talent and power to claim the title. In the semi-finals, the S.H.I.T powered back from a late inning deficit with a big helping hand from Joe Larama. With one of the biggest kicks of the night, Larama booted a grand slam deep to left field for the go ahead runs and lead that his team would not relinquish in extra innings, winning 13-11.
In the final, Sade Hayes led the charge with an onslaught of base hits and a cannon arm in right field. With the help of their heroine, Hayes, the S.H.I.T. rolled out to a lead in the first inning and never looked back, stomping their way to a 6-0 win for the championship. |

|
So Hot They're Burning
What a barn burner for two teams that had geared up all season for this game. In an extremely close 5-4 win, Too Hot For My Pants indeed made things spicy in the 7th inning. Booze On First began a quick rally, down 1 run, and put two runners on with 1 out. But little did they know what captain Mitch Olsen and company had in store. They immediately put a halt to the rally and secured the championship with two magnificent displays of defense, holding the runners at second for two straight outs. Way to go Pants! |

I-O Psychinators psych'd out competition
I-O Psychinators went ahead on a sacrifice fly to win the game in the 9th inning. Brandon Feicho was responsible for this monster RBI. Kicks Mcgee played a great game, leading most of the way. But it came down to the 2nd overtime. Adam Kemly for Kicks Mcgee had some solid basehits and the captain Stacy Howard laid down some sweet bunts, advancing multiple runners. Both teams played hard and made it fun! |

Championships!
Team Ramrod verses Team Awesome... epic showdown! If i weren't for KC making the crazy outs and breaking backs from the pitchers mound... Team Awesome wouldn't have been able to break away from the tight game for a win of 6-5.
The following game to determine the finalist, The A Team had to forfeit due to lack of ladies turning out. This allowed number one seed, Kick'n grASS & Taking Names to advance.
FInal game in championships... Within the first few innings, Kick'n grASS thought they had the game on lock. But Team Awesome proved their Awesomeness and gave them a real challenge. Throughout the rest of the game, the game was either tied up or at a difference of a single point! By the end of the game, Krislyn made an awesome kick to advance her runner for an RBI which broke the tie for a win in the last inning! Great games!!! |

Bad News Banyans are the new Downtown Rookie Champs
A total of 20 runs were scored in the championship game at Cascade Playfield on Monday night. Bad News Banyans scored 16 of them and took down the championship. Amy Clem played a heck of game, putting on a bunting clinic (that is until they couldn't bunt anymore). Wolfpack of 10, even though lost by 12, kept spirits high and had a great time. Both teams are ready for the next level and are a great addition to Underdog Kickball. |

Booze on First take championship from #1 Break Rubbers
It couldn't have been a nicer more beautiful day for a kickball showdown. Both teams, Break Rubbers and Booze of First, played a great game. But in all championship games, there had to be a winner. In this case, b/c of one heck of a 6th inning, Booze of First stole the show, scoring 4 runs making it 9 to 4 w/Booze in the lead. Break Rubbers just couldn't get their kicks passed the solid defense of the boozers. Booze on First held them from scoring in the 6th and the 7th. A play that turned things around, was Tom Wyrwich's sky high dodge racing into home, scoring their first run of the 6th. Final score 11 to 4. Awesome job, both teams!! |

Championships!
No one could predict what was going to go down at Ballard Boys and Girls Club on thursday! Working their way from the bottom to the top, Entercommies took on the other teams with full force. A true Cinderella story. Mike Kaplan was a definite contributor to their success with all his catches and runs against Picture me Rollin' for the final match.
Weed Eaters also did some justice against Off in the Woods. Knocking out the number one seed to take hold of 3rd place. Jesse Rinehart can take credit for making a lot of their runs. |

Championships!!
It was a battle royal in Fremont at Ross Field. The day started off with Jacked and Tan against Power Steam. It was clear from the first inning, the Jacked and Tan was definitely Jacked.. (and tan..). They had Jill McDonald (semi) sacrifice her soccer team to make the championship game and be their solid catcher. I'll tell you, this girl moved quick!
The next game was Kick in a Box against Angry Pirates. Those pirates showed no mercy giving them a shut out. Of course they had to give Missy Jansen props for her sweet catch in the outfield.
Final game... were it all mattered... Jacked and Tan against Angry Pirates. It was a nerve wrecking game up to the finish. Jacked and Tan kept the Angry Pirates at bay and came out top. They defeated the undefeated Pirates.. It was crazy! |

Kick in a Box Champs Again!!!
Kick in a Box jumped all over the depleted Manhandlers (yes the same Manhandlers that won the Red Rubber Showdown) in the first and never looked back. Kick in a Box used there timely kicks and aggressive base running to keep the pressure on all game long. There defense may have been more impressive then the offense as Caitlin Devlin made great line drive catches as the pitcher, while keeping their opponents off balance with her change up and curve ball. Laurel Green was not to be out done as she showed her off great kicking from catcher to first base. This was an all around great effort by Kick in a Box to avenge their one point loss Manhandlers when it matter most. Something tells me these teams will be battling for seasons to come. Congrats Kick in Box on a great season! |

Magnolia introduces a new softcore kickball champion
Mr King led his troops to an 18 to 10 victory over Garrett and One Ball Salute in Wednesday night's championship game at Magnolia Playfields. Yes, there was a winner and yes, there was a loser but turning a blind eye to the score, child-like fun was the overall champion. Thanks to both teams, we were all able to laugh and joke and keep things light and smooth. What a great way for both teams, to end their season! |

U-district Playfield Championships
Thursday was the day where the teams either had it or didn't! First game was Just for Kicks against Big Swinging Kicks. The game was insanely close, but Big Swinging Kicks could thank their guy Ted for getting 2 in the park home runs to bring them up top!
Second game was Where My Pitches At against Stinky Fingers. Who knew that Stinky Fingers would have such a solid game from the very first inning. They took advantage of every time Where My Pitches At slipped up and made a solid win. Anthony was a sure contributor with his two home runs.
And at last the grand finale. Stinky Fingers against Big Swinging Kicks for all the marbles. Another close and EXTREMELY intense game. You could tell because everyone was sweating like crazy workin hard. But in the end, it was Stinky Fingers hard work (and special coaching from Chris of course) that paid off. |
![SUM[10] Softcore Red Rubber Showdown 7 Champs: Manhandlers](/contentimages/0712102121_0496.JPG)
|
Manhandled! The Manhandlers went a perfect 6-0 on the day to pick up their first RRS championship on Saturday. They played a number of close games over the day, but had the heart to pull the game out each time. Those close games included a slim 2 run victory over Friends with Benefits early in the day as well as a 4 run victory in a high scoring game against We've Got the Runs in round robin play.
In the playoffs, the first game pitted two undefeated teams as the Manhandlers went up against Kick Yo Couch Ninjas. The game was hotly contested, but the Manhandlers pulled out a nail-biter 10-9.
Feeling a little bit nostalgic in the semi-finals, the Manhandlers decided they'd just beat their opponent by the same score. They went up against Rubber Ballz and Liquor and ended up with the same exact 10-9 score in advancing to the finals.
They decided to switch it up some in the finals. They would enter the bottom of the fifth inning losing to Field My Balls. Just as they had done earlier in the day, they flipped the switch and turned on more offense. They would load the bases before scoring the winning run on the last play of the game for the championship. |
![SUM[10] Midcore Red Rubber Showdown 7 Champs: Tacoma Cobra Kai](/contentimages/0712102242_0353.JPG)
|
Tacoma Cobra Kai beat Ex-Champs Tacoma Cobra Kai came up I-5 and played two former Red Rubber champions on their way to their first title. They started their day with a shutout as the kept the veteran Slim Kickins at bay for 5 innings. Their defense was great, but they had plenty of offense as well, kicking their way to 8 runs. In the 3rd game of the day, they had a back and forth battle with defending champions I Touched All Your Bases. Cobra Kai's defense stepped it up late and pulled out a tie that was just enough to put them into the playoff round.
In the semi-finals, Cobra Kai got put up against their rivals Team Fiesta En Los Pantelones. The two teams had known each other for years and played a heated battle. Cobra Kai had just a little bit more in the end and picked up a trip to the finals to play BIG TAB.
In the finals, the first and second place teams from the Desperado division met up. It was a tight game that came down to the bottom of the fifth inning. In the bottom of five, BIG TAB was down 3 runs and mounted enough offense to make Cobra Kai sweat. They scored one run early in the inning to get within two runs before putting runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs. Cobra Kai then induced a pop fly to left field for the 3rd out of the inning and the championship. |
