Underdog Kickball brings a fresh
new twist to the adult recreational sports scene. Kickball...
yes, just like you played in 5th grade, is a game that closes
the age and gender gap, if but a little.
This great playground pastime
is now back for adults 21 and older to enjoy. So far, ages for
players have ranged from 21-61, all in the same division.
We at Underdog Kickball encourage
rivalries, cheering, and general fun; but if you are an individual
looking for an extremely competitive sport, our leagues may not
be for you. Remember, it's just kickball, you can’t really
get that worked up or mad about anything…it's just kickball.
The idea behind kickball - past
and present - is to have fun first, win second. Win or lose, what's
better than being out there having fun with friends? And... the
upside of kickball for grown-ups is the chance to go
to a local sponsor bar after the game, socialize and hang out.
Underdog Kickball is the largest
group of kickball leagues west of the Great Plains. We are proud
to offer quality adult coed kickball leagues in the greater Seattle
area and surrounding suburbs.
Underdog
Kickball was originally founded in 2003 under the name Pacific
Northwest Kickball, and is now happy to be part of the Underdog
Sports Leagues network.

What Division is right for me or my team?
New for 2007 - The Underdog has made a few rules adjustments aimed at keeping kickball goofy and fun no matter what level of competitive spirit your team wants to bring out on the diamond. For a more in depth explanation of rules variations between divisions, please click here.
Rookie Leagues
- New to Kickball for "Grown-Ups"?
- Been a few years since you last got out on the playground?
- Is your team more interested in coming up with themed outfits and nicknames than in winning the game?
Rookie leagues are for teams who've never played Underdog Kickball, and would like a primer before they jump in with more experienced teams. In these leagues, the goal of pitching is to get the ball kicked - not to strike people out or make them look bad. The ump will not allow curving or excessive speed on pitches. Other rules also favor fun over lop-sided scores.
Midcore Division
- Has your team played kickball before?
- Taken off the training wheels on your kickball team skillz?
- Like to try out there on the diamond (sort of)... but still have trouble remembering the score some innings?
- Does your team think kickball is still about ridiculous fun and then a trip to the sponsor bar - win or lose?
Midcore is the place to be for teams with a bit of kickball know-how. Fun is the goal - but it's alright to take a look at that scoreboard now and then, or to run that grounder out like you mean it (maybe while wearing a crazy 70s outfit, or a gorilla suit...). In Midcore, the goal of pitching is to get the ball kicked - not to strike people out or make them look bad. The ump will not allow curving or excessive speed on pitches. Other rules also favor fun over lop-sided scores.
Hardcore Division
- Has your team decided that kickball is best treated as a competitive sport?
- Do you design custom banners commemorating your league titles?
- Is your team so knowledgeable about the rules that you like to use them to your advantage... ON EVERY PLAY?
- Does losing put you in a bad mood for a few minutes (or even hours)?
Hardcore is for those teams that are good at kickball (and we mean GOOD), and like to take it pretty seriously. Goals include winning, scoring many runs, and keeping the other team off the base paths. In Hardcore, almost anything goes in terms of pitching the ball (minus high bounces, side-arm, or overhand delivery). Curving? Fastrolls? Sure, go for it. People run the bases like their pants are on fire, and there are players that will throw you out from the third base position like they're getting paid to do it. But it's kickball for grown-ups, so even when you try hard it's still fun and goofy.
